It's Friday and time to Celebrate the Small Things. Welcome to our wonderful oasis of mini-celebrations. Hosted by Lexa Cain, and her wonderful co-hosts:
L.G. Keltner @ Writing Off The Edge Katie @ TheCyborgMom
This week, I'm celebrating:
This week, I'm celebrating:
- A break from the 90-100 degree temperatures!
- A welcome rain! Whoo-hoo, no standing outside with a hose and watering the garden! Oh...wait...that was Hubzam. I just watched.
- This may be a minor thing to some, but a huge deal to me: My vet is a genius, I've decided. I've used about six different vets over the last decade. He's the first one who has figured out a medicine regimen that has kept my dog, Coco, from scratching herself to death. Frequently allergy flair ups are killer on the budget bottom line.
- Finally settled on a disaster buddy (The Rock).
- Magoo got engaged to his long time gal-friend. We love her.
- Missed the speeding bullet, son! Magoo was faced with a car repair that seemed HUGE. Like "new engine" huge. Fortune smiled on him and it was not a big deal after all. Whew!
- Juggernaut got a new job! He won't have to travel. The man is a homebody, first and foremost.
- I think I figured out the problem with my "jerky" scrollin' blog.
Everyone have a great weekend! Be safe and have some fun.
Join us in the celebration and tell us how your week went!
Good morning, dear Cherdo!
ReplyDeleteYessum, this is a rather BIG thing for me. I will tell you right away that your page is nice and stable today, not dancing around as it was for the last two weeks. (I think it had to pee.) I'm very happy that you solved that problem.
Today I will literally be celebrating a small thing - my baby grandson - when we travel across the state to visit him. He is now one month old. Another small thing to celebrate is that he recently underwent a successful laser procedure to correct his mouth and lip. He had been tongue tied and unable to breast feed. Now he's taking nourishment without any problems.
Thank you for another week of faithful friendship, dear friend Cherdo - no small thing.
That is so exciting! What's not to love about a new baby in the family?
DeleteI'm not sure what was wrong with the page but it was certainly irritating and I'm glad it is fixed, too.
Travel safe! Hug that little boy for me and have a great weekend, dear s.d. knight!
Oh, Shady, God bless that baby boy.
DeleteThis week at work was tough so I'm celebrating this Friday more than ever!
ReplyDeleteI also get to work from home today so that makes me happy and my dogs are happy for the same reason.
Have a great weekend!!!
I'm late responding to all of these, but I hope you had a great week, Holli! Just read about the nemesis (argh!).
DeleteAlways good when you can find a good vet, cassie tears her self up too, only thing we've found is a steroid shot works, but then the whole issue of diabetes may arise, ugg.
ReplyDeleteWhen Coco flares up, the steroid shot + antibiotic + Temeril is the only thing that works. We're trying to eliminate those nasty flare ups..
DeleteI wouldn't want to travel either. Wish we'd get a break from our high temperatures.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he really hated being away from family. I don't blame him a bit.
DeleteGood vets are hard to find. Happy for you.
ReplyDeleteThey sure are - thanks, Marilyn!
DeleteOur dog has experienced some allergy issues this summer, too. We've been giving her Benadryl and it's settled her right down.
ReplyDeleteIt's still an inferno here. I can't believe it's only June.
She's made the rounds of all the reasonably priced treatment plans, ha ha.
DeleteGood to hear all that. Best wishes. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks,dear!
DeleteI'm going to try this again. What am I trying? To comment. For some reason blogger has not been completing actions like page loading, comment completion, and more. It's been acting up a lot recently.
ReplyDeleteSome other folks have been complaining about Blogger this week. Wonder what's up?
DeleteWow! It sounds like all is well in the Cherdo household and even your doggie is happy! Congrats to your son on his engagement! I hope the "rain" of good news continues! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lexa - what's the temp in Egypt lately?? Dare I ask?
DeleteWe have one day of humid and heat and the next day only 20. Tomorrow back to heat, same with Sunday but rain. Monday back down again to 22 (C). I am glad your son did not get hit with a huge repair bill. Cars are always a blessing and a curse
ReplyDeleteKeep talking centigrade...it makes me feel cooler.
DeleteThat's a bucket full of blessings/causes to celebrate! I'm popping a top for you - and hope you can sit out in the (relatively) cooler weather to enjoy. And pet the dog for me.
ReplyDeleteA Diet Coke in your honor, too, Diana! Coco accepts the pet with pleasure...wet, tongue swiping pleasure.
DeleteCongratulations on your son's engagement. I'm glad you like his fiancé.
ReplyDeleteLucky you that the temps have gone down. It's still ridiculously hot here in Atlanta!
Atlanta is usually the same as Knoxville, so I'll cross my fingers for both of us, Sherry.
DeleteThese are wonderful news Cheryl and congratulations. Especially finding a good vet for Coco and the close call on the accident and car repair
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maurice! Hope you had a great weekend.
DeleteTons to celebrate! Congrats on the engagement! And glad your dog will have some less expensive relief. And I'm celebrating the rain too. Too bad the temps are supposed to go up soon.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I live in the South if I don't like the high highs? Must be the people.
DeleteI'm glad for your good news and Coco's vet solving the problem!
ReplyDeleteThanks, EPT! It may not be completely solved but this is the longest she has gone without a flair up in her entire life.
DeleteSounds like a great week. Hope your weekend is good as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, M.R.R.!
DeleteYour weeks sounds pretty great to me. Especially The Rock part hubba hubba.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Oh yeah - throw another hubba on there for good measure.
DeleteSo glad Coco is doing better. A good vet is a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephen - you're totally right.
DeleteI think the best one is the vet who figured out how to help Coco. Harper never had relief from the itchies after we moved to Florida.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Amen! It looks like it is helping. I was so tired of pouring money on the rash. It didn't work.
DeleteA dog with allergies? And I thought a human with allergies was bad. Poor thing. A genius vet is definitely not a minor thing. It took us forever to find a good vet for our animal farm. One wanted to try to upsell us $1,000 worth of worthless vaccines ("but this one is REALLY good just in case your dog goes through the garbage!" - uh, no, they don't. Ever) and tried to guilt trip us when we refused. Not all of them are geniuses. Some of them are complete a-holes. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a ridiculously conscientious pet owner and I had one vet threaten me if I didn't use their high priced - and ineffective - option. I gave her a clear understanding of my "stance."
