Beautiful things get me pretty excited. |
Some days, talking seems a far second to observing. There's nothing special about my place except the fact that it is MY place (and Hubzam's, of course). But then I kick that sentiment to the curb once I've walking been around and really looked at the bit of geography we call home.
So, call this "Just Watch" Wednesday as I share a few pictures I took in my yard today.
 |
In Tennessee, we appreciate orange (Go, Vols!). |
 |
This particular Sunflower must be 12 feet high. |
 |
The sunflowers are just showing off this year. |
 |
Gotta check on sleeping birds. I've got four birdhouses with youngsters. |
 |
Don't forget me...how could you ignore a cow? |
 |
More showing off...go, Mother Nature, go... |
 |
Wish I remembered what flowers I planted. |
 |
This little guy didn't mind me sticking my camera phone up close and personal. |
 |
The view out back. I can't write a better ending. |
Lots of great colors. It's like spring time in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that they are blooming now for the first time.
DeleteI think I just fell a wee bit in love with your yard and it's environs... even with the show-offy sunflowers, lol.
ReplyDeleteThen we are equal - I love your container gardens so much. We are thinking about downsizing and the container gardens would be in my small house future, for sure. Actually, I don't have a huge house now - but I have a big yard.
DeleteEnding with a rainbow - nice!
ReplyDeleteYou do have some tall sunflowers. Wow.
It's funny to have flowers that are too tall for you to pick!
DeleteHappy Wednesday, Cherdo! Lovely photos. That last close up of the moth is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten my actual camera out this year. My little phone camera is awesome.
DeleteVery nice. If I may mix meats, that cow's a ham!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha...he is a ham, and soooo needy.
DeleteThose are gorgeous pictures!! You had me at the first Orange flower. Orange is the best color and my very favorite. I love the sunflowers
ReplyDeleteI love all the bright flowers. It's an instant burst of happy.
DeleteEnjoyed your pictures....well not so much the cow's nose!
ReplyDeleteThat particular cow will lick my arm if I am not careful. His giant tongue can get the whole arm in one swipe. So, I prefer just seeing his nose (he was seconds away from the "big lick" attempt once more).
DeleteLove the pictures, and your commentaries.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephen!
DeleteBEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteAnd much better than anything I could see from where I'm at.
Unless you think a dog licking his crotch is beautiful.
I'd have to see the dog before I could answer.
DeleteYou have a pretty yard. It's rained a lot lately, so Lake Junebug has water again.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
We were looking at a house tonight that had a creek in the back yard and the first thing that came to mind was "how long will that creek remain a creek...and not a lake?" It would be my luck to move into a yard that flooded. We have a creek on the very back of our property, but it is beyond a 500 year flood line.
DeleteAll that to say that water in your yard is no fun. I have paper towels, if that will help.
I love these pictures-the rainbow to end the blog for today is great. I love that moth and your camera phone takes great pictures. Mr. Cow wants to get to know you:)
ReplyDeleteConsidering the fact that the phone's camera wasn't a factor in the choice AT ALL, it does take good pictures, I think. I hear LG has a phone with a 12 mp camera...I'd be throwing my camera away at that point. Less is best.
DeleteMr. Cow knows I give him fruit peelings and vegetable stalks. He thinks we're in love.

ReplyDeleteI love all the colours, Cherdo, and the animals. You have made my day! It is very hot and humid here in Montreal, and your photos have provided me with a feeling of happiness and relief. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this comment the first time around but you, my friend, are the Queen of Happy Thoughts - so I take that as a compliment! :-)
