3 Clues to Get You Ready for Mock Squid Soup, Friday, Aug. 14

MOCK! and The Armchair Squid are proud to present

Mock Squid Soup: A Film Society!

How could your old pal, Cherdo, possibly pass up any
opportunity to frolic with Mock & Squid? I can't!

You can jump in the cauldron, too!  Sign up below!

This month, everyone gets to throw a movie of their own choice into the pot.  Here's the wrinkle for June, a fabulous idea from Mock:  the week before our gathering, a trivia challenge on Friday!  Everyone is invited to post three clues about his/her movie for others to guess.

My clues for my movie are:

1. A suppository.
2. A tuber
3. A mannerless lad.

You may not have seen this film yet, it might not have been on your radar, but it's a goodie. Take a guess in the comments below. Come one, make a wild guess. Society reviews will be posted next Friday, August 14.  See you then.

Meanwhile, please visit my fellow cinephiles today:

    2. I had it at suppository. Seriously, what else could it be?

Such a great movie. Though, really, the book's even better. My favorite story in the book didn't even make it to the film.

  7. Hmm...I have no idea, but it sounds like an interesting movie. I believe "tuber" is a word for "potato" in England?

    1. Correctamundo, Stephanie! Since Squid already guessed correctly, I'll tell you that one of the main characters is nicknamed Spud.

  8. Hmmm At first I thought of Tremors but the first clue didn't match and then I thought of that image of the ugliest bathroom in the world and Trainspotting came into my head-Is that right?

  9. I'm not sure I want to watch this movie if it has potatoes and a suppository. LOL

    1. Actually, it's a classic cult film in its own right. Check it out if you have chance. The first time I saw it, the initial scene turned me off - but I ended up loving it.

  10. Even knowing the answer I couldn't figure it out from the clues. That made me wonder about the title. Found this on Wikipedia.... "The cryptic film title is a reference to a scene (not included in the film) in the original book."

  12. I cheated and read The Armchair Squid's answer! I've never seen that movie though, so the clues wouldn't have helped. I was thinking along the lines of Animal House. LOL!

    1. You have to watch that one, Lexa.

(You had a double post of the same thing so I removed one...it's like housecleaning online).

  13. What Squid said. He's good! (I'm not much of a movie watcher, so I'm probably not going to be very good at this game.)

    1. You never know! It's not beyond me to do a children's movie or classic that EVERYONE knows.

  14. I see that the squid got it. I never would've gotten it... because I still don't know what movie it is (and I did read the title). Ah well...

  15. Those three things mean absolutely nothing to me :P Maybe it's because I haven't heard of the movie in question.

    1. You need to watch Trainspotting. The write up of the movie doesn't do it justice (if you Google it) but it is worth a watch.

    2. I have heard that actually. I've got a movie watch-list written out on my desk and Trainspotting is on it :)

  16. I started to watch Trainspotting once, but never got into it. Maybe I should try again.

  17. Trainspotting is a great movie, though it makes me feel a little sick at times. But what good is a movie if it doesn't make you feel something?

  18. Squid guessed it so i didn't have to guess.

  19. I wouldn't have guessed this in a million years... Probably because I haven't seen the movie. I should change that. I've heard good things, like it's good in a terrible way. Or terrible in a good way (because of the subject). Take your pick.
