Celebrate the Small Things: Like Enthusiasm!

It's Friday and time to Celebrate the Small Things!
Welcome to our wonderful oasis of mini-celebrations.
Hosted by Lexa Cain, and her wonderful co-hosts:

Let's do this, peeps!

Like a billion others, I like to follow my pals on Facebook. This week's celebration is dedicated to those feel-good moments and youthful enthusiasm, provided by the phone video-cam of Matt's parents (I'd be videoing this, too). Matt is a wonderful guy and his parents have every reason to be proud.

So, what are we waiting for? It's football time in Tennessee!  From the University of Tennessee at Knoxville! The Pride of the Southland! Shout it out, Matt Holt!

If you didn't smile at that...

  1. Well I can't get the video to play even though it says it's an mp4 file. I know it's a small thing but all I get is the picture when I try to play it.

  2. Good morning, dear Cherdo!

I'm sorry, but the video won't play for me either. I am celebrating the fact that God gave each of us an imagination for times like this. :)

I am also celebrating today because tomorrow I'm going "home." :)

I wish you a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Cherdo!

    1. Hey, I used blogger's "methodology" and followed the instructions...it played on mine...

I will not be denied by happy thought! Try it again (I loaded it to my YouTube channel...my nearly vacant, wasteland YouTube channel...).

    2. It worked! Holy cow it worked! :) That was exciting to watch, dear friend Cherdo. Mrs. Shady overheard me playing it and wanted me to mention that her son and daughter were in their school's marching band. Her son played trombone and her daughter started out playing sax and switched to color guard.

That U. of Tenn band will be playing a different tune (the blues) if and when their team comes face to face on the gridiron with the mighty Nittany Lions of Penn State! :)

      The worst I've ever heard!
      Give it another crack

  6. Yeah, I have the video! The sound is fabulous. Don't know why others can't get it. Works fine. And I love the bands!

  9. I always sing Rocky Top when UT scores. Mainly to annoy my son. You should hear me when Oklahoma scores...

  10. OMG, to be that young and carefree again. A time when you were convinced you were unique and that everything you wanted in life was out there just waiting for you to grab it. I can't even remember back that far. Thanks for the vid. It made me laugh! Have a lovely weekend.:)

    1. Yes, and he is the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet on top of it all.

      Take care, girl!

  11. So cool! My mom was introduced to the East TN UT craziness when she traveled to that area to visit family this summer. Everyone wears orange! You don't see that in middle TN, even with the Titans here. There's no one team the entire city is passionate about like you see in East TN.

    1. You described it perfectly! East TN is UT nuts. We are awash in orange ni the Fall. Knoxville lives and breathes the Vols. It's unbridled passion.

This weekend, we have the double whammy of UT plus the last Boomsday celebration (too pricey!).

  12. The video played for moi. I waved my pink plastic magic wand over it. Voila! It's a great video. I love a man with a trombone, and I don't mean anything naughty by that. My son is a trombonist.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Magic is an awesome way to coordinate tasks.

My brother was a trombone man...my oldest, trumpet...then guitar...my middle kid - drums...my youngest - violin, guitar. Someone is always playing something around my house.

  13. Awesome video. He makes band look like a blast. Neither of us ever got past those cheesy recorder things they give you in elementary school.
