MIchael D'Agostino's Question of the Month

Michael D'Agostino of A Life Examined (that sweet thunder from down under) started this blog hop with these words:

"Your readers would like to know a little more about you. Show them who you are by taking part in the Question of the Month bloghop. On the first Monday of each month, we answer the question that gets posted here. Sign up on the list (on Michael's site) to join the fun ;) With every question, remember that the important part is explaining your answer. And please, if you have any suggestions for new questions, share them in the comments section. I bet you've got some great ideas for us."

This month's question is:
Who would play you in a movie?

Well, if you read the comments on the "reminder" post you saw my answer: probably Melissa McCarthy.
  • Why? Well, I could never see a beauty playing me, so that rules out most of the "go-to" actresses. I'm a little short according to my BMI.
  • Then check off those who aren't funny; no one would pick someone who wasn't at least trying to get a laugh at one time or another.
  • I love awkward moments or ridiculous comedy.
Michael, this was a great question and I can't wait to read the others' responses. Keep up the good work, buddy.

You can read them, too, or just join the hop. Sign up below or visit Michael at A Life Examined.

  1. She has made a couple of fun movies, but now it's just the same old fat jokes with her almost every time.

    1. Yeah, I will admit that I don't like it when that is the only joke going.

    1. I totally missed the boat on her early stuff and never watched Gilmore Girls. There's many a popular TV show that I've missed entirely! Thank goodness for Netflix, ha ha.

  5. I think that is a great choice! She is funny, intelligent and she is pretty. I love seeing her in movies because she makes the film often. As for me? I have no clue

    1. I think Olympia Dukakis would be a good Birgit (I LOVE her, too). She might be a bit old but she'd make up for it in humor.

  6. I looooovee her!!! Melissa is one of my favorite actresses. I cried from laughing at her episodes when she guest starred on SNL.
I will say I would want Salma Hayek to play me. She's short and dark complicated and she has a funny sense of humor too.

    1. Her SNL stint was one of the best one they have done, I totally agree, Holli!

Salma Hayek - yes!! Plus the beautiful hair! I've always loved your hair. I don't have a single wave in my hair, so yours looks like heaven to me, ha ha.

    1. Thanks, Chrys! I don't think I'm on par with her but it would be the type of actress it would have to be.

  9. I can totally picture Melissa McCarthy playing you. In fact, wasn't her character in Bridesmaids based on your life?

    1. Well, we're casting the movie, so....we can play around with the age bracket, right, Susan?

  12. I think Melissa McCarthy IS beautiful. And so fun! She's Jenny McCarthy's cousin--and it was interesting how Jenny McCarthy kind of put her little snarky spin on her cousin becoming more famous than her...one of those, "I'm so glad I was able to give her a start on my show back in the 90s (or whenever) and now she's become so famous!" Just a little jealousy there...

    1. I didn't know that at all! How did that little tidbit escape me? I could totally envision that "jealousy" and I don't know a thing about JM.

Just one more reason I need a Stephanie Faris to hang with...pop trivia! Love it.

  13. She is fun! I like her humor.

This question was hard for me. I just couldn't think of who I look like.

  17. I think Melissa McCarthy is just adorablle with a zany sense of humor. Her dimples just make the face loveable. I'm very tall but my BMI tells me I should be grateful because if I was shorter I'd be really, really round.

  18. I've made a huge list (no I didn't) of all the people that might play me. I'll pare down the list (no I won't) and get back to you (probably won't happen) by next week (HA!).
