Favorite Characters, Favorite Lines: B is for Bane

Hats off to Arlee Bird, creator of the A-to-Z. This is a new favorite of mine because of the wide array of topics and the variety of blogs that participate. I'm going to do my best to be worthy of the challenge, just as sure as I'm #521 today on the list. Who knew it would change? I was #526 the other day... #AtoZChallenge

Short and sweet, let's get to the character for today:

B is for Bane!

"It doesn't matter who we are; what matters is our plan!"

"Calm down doctor, now is not the time for fear...that comes later."

"Speak of the devil and he shall appear."

"I'm necessary evil."

[Bane to Batman] "When Gotham is ashes...you have my permission to die."

Bane was "Gotham's reckoning" in The Dark Knight Rises and Tom Hardy brought his A-game to the screen in his portrayal of this mysterious foe. In Bane, Batman had a worthy opponent; perhaps, a superior one. And truly, Bane oozed a menacing evil with cold, steely confidence. He stole the scenes - easily.

See ya tomorrow for C...

    1. Hey, you hadn't seen it a second ago, but I thought maybe that changed...

    1. Now I'm jealous. I want to see it on the big screen, but my family hates going to theaters. Ah, Netflix, how I love thee...

  5. Wow. This movie is a prime example of how migraines screw with you. I know I saw it. Parts of the footage you have here are vaguely familiar, but it's very much like I've not seen it. So, I watched the trailer. Again, I knew I'd seen it, but couldn't remember much about it.

My only explanation: when I watch a movie or TV show (or anything really) while in a bad migraine place I'm much more likely to lose recall. It's like the circuits are barely firing or something. This is not a NEW phenomena mind you. I've noticed this before. I just didn't realize THIS MOVIE was one of the things I lost until I watched this bit.

You know that means I have to watch it again!

    1. I've had headaches that interfer with memories, Robin! For a while, I suffered from migraines, too. Misery! Poor Robin, is all I can say. It's no joke; migraines mess with your life.

      Thanks, Robin!

    1. Me, too! I'm probably too old for superheros...don't get me started on Iron Man, ha ha.

  7. That was a great movie (series). Only Tom Hardy could make that voice menacing. "No one cared who I was until I put on the mask."

    1. Even though I knew it was Tom Hardy, I was floored by how evil he sounded. And so matter-of-fact. Chilling.

  9. Yep. I have harbored a mildly nefarious crush on Bane ever since the movie.

  10. Believe it or not, I've not seen any of the Batman movies. But I do love a good quote, so I quite like this post.

  11. I can't believe I've not seen this Batman movie.
Odd how they took a second rate villain and made him so powerful in this episode.

  12. With the exception of Heath Ledger's Joker, easily the best villain.
And, thankfully, not the cartoonish Bane of "Batman and Robin."
