Favorite Characters, Favorite Lines: Q is for Qui-gon!

Let's do this! Give me an A! Give me a B! That's rude...may I PLEASE have a Q?

It's the 2016 Blogging from A to Z challenge! We're past the halfway point and roaring towards Z. Have you visited some of the other participants' blogs? What are ya waiting for? Check out all the great blogs on the list.  #AtoZChallenge

Thanks to the creator, Arlee Bird (Tossing It Out), and the GREAT team that helps make the whole SHEBANG happen. A list of great participants can be found at the A to Z Blog site.  The basic idea is to blog every day in April except Sundays (26 days), alphabetically, theme optional. Of course, I had to go with a theme: Favorite Characters, Favorite Lines

Of all the Q characters in the galaxy, there can be only one Qui-gon Jinn! The master with the mostest, able to pick out force-changers, assign Jedi trainers and baffle your basic Jar-Jar effortlessly.

Q is for Qui-gon!

Greed can be a very powerful ally.

Obi-Wan: Do not defy the council, Master, not again.
Qui-Gon Jinn: I shall do what I must, Obi-Wan.

There's always a bigger fish.

Young Anakin Skywalker:
I'm afraid master.
Qui-Gon Jinn:
Control your fear. You are the chosen one, and you must be tested.
Young Anakin Skywalker:
What's in there?
Qui-Gon Jinn:
Only what you take with you. You're final test is at hand. Trust in the force.

Finding him was the will of the force, I have no doubt of that.

Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi-Wan Kenobi.

There is something else behind all this, Your Highness. There's no logic
in the Federation's move here. My feelings tell me they will destroy you.

May the force be with you.

Qui-Gon Jinn: [fatally injured] Uhh, it's too late, it...
Obi-Wan: No!
Qui-Gon Jinn: Obi-Wan, promise... Promise me you will train the boy.
Obi-Wan: Yes, master.
Qui-Gon Jinn: He is the chosen one. He will bring balance. Train him.

But wait! We can't end on a sad note. How about this one (okay, not
really a quote from the movie...but don't you WISH it was??

  1. Great quotes for today. He was a great Jedi. The first to learn how to become one with the force.
A few of the photos didn't work for me today. I'm not sure why, they didn't open up. I do like the one where they are all drinking beer. So funny. LOL

    1. HOLLI, I saw the first movie, 'STAR WARS', in the theatre when it came out and everyone was raving about it. It did next to nuttin' for me.

I got dragged to the second one and thought it was better'n the first, but not good enough to inspire me to see any of the other 363 sequels / prequels.

DOC CHERDO, I'm now 6 for 17. Sheesh!

  3. Holli, you aren't alone. I haven't seen them all either. Love the quote: The ability to speak does not make you intelligent!

  4. My SIL is a Star Wars aficionado. He has a light saber. I say if you have a light saber, let it do the talking for you.

  5. Well, I saw the first three (when they were the first). Now they are 4, 5, and 6. I heard very mixed reviews about the prequels, and I watch so few movies these last few years... I skipped 'em. So, I haven't seen any of these. Though, I do recognize the actor from the first Dark Knight movie. Ha! Now, I did see the most recent one with the kids. I thought it was very good. So, that makes 4-7 for me.

  6. I was disappointed that they killed him off. Likewise, Darth Maul. As if Phantom Menace wasn't bad enough.

  7. I love Liam Neeson..Love him but this movie....there is some good spots-love the music when you see Darth Maul. I love the special effects but i ended up calling Neeson's character Q-tip

  8. I saw the first three Star Wars movies, but feel no interest in the rest. However, I think Liam Neeson is a great actor. It must have taken some work to find a "Q" character.

    Love,
    Janie

  10. He's one of the reasons I've always liked the prequels. I mean, you have to ignore some pretty great stuff to so successfully focus on the stuff you hate...
