BOTB Results: A Bird in Hand...Sort of...

"Excuse me...where do the winners sit?"
Another Battle of the Bands is in the bag! How did you do with your vote for the heartthrobs of yester-year?

My thoughts: First of all, ya'll are so mean to rat lovin' Michael Jackson: "...They don't see you as I do! I wish they would try to!"

No wonder he sang those heartfelt lines. We must support our rodent singers in the future. After all, how many rat crooners do we have left? Did Willard have a love sick fan? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

A big old zero for the young Jacksoneer? That surprised me; surely, he would get one vote. Nopity nope nope.

That left David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman to duke it out and when the dust cleared, it was David Cassidy with 5 and Bobby Sherman with 4. I could add my vote...but it would be for David Cassidy, so it doesn't matter! See what I did there?

To the victor! Sing us out, David!

Now, get thee to my peeps' blogs and check out the battle scores! There's sure to be a surprise or two.

  1. Michael Jackson's vocal was so high pitched that it sounded like a rat singing. It was good but no hunk of cheese for him.

The right guy won in my opinion.

    1. I think he was on the cusp of man-voice! It's funny, but I remember young Michael Jackson like a separate person (but still singing to a rat...).

      Thanks, Arlee

  2. On the advise of Mr McCarthy, I watched The Spirit of 76. Well, thats an hour twenty and change that I'll never get back! My thoughts - it was so incredibly dumb, that it was borderline genius. And now, I need to rethink my life choices.. Ha!

Fun battle you had here. See you next week for the next one!

    1. I saw a stage version of that play that a friend was in...I want to say it inspired me to see the movie, but actually, it was just curiosity.

    1. No problem! I don't know how you do it, Alex. It's hard for me to get desktop time with two guys working at home or doing college papers.

      Thanks!

  4. Any sibling of Laurie Partridge is a winner in my eyes. So, yes, Keith was meant to win!

'The Spirit Of '76' - Wacky sense of humor required, and a memory still sufficiently intact to recall that the '70s was nearly impossible to satirize because it was like 218.04 million clowns packed into a Volkswagen Beetle.

  5. I couldn't stand David Cassidy, Michael Jackson, or Donny Osmond in the 70s (I lumped them all in the same category). Also loathed "The Brady Bunch."
I was a bitter little teenager, I suppose.
But.....if I had to chose....it would be Michael Jackson. His later stuff was pretty good.
Still hate "The Brady Bunch," though.
I suppose I'm a bitter little geezer now.
